CCE since its inception in 2014 has been providing access to justice support for the vulnerable in society through the formal legal system and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) processes. For instance in 2019 alone, the Centre recorded a total of 112 cases which required support for these people through mediation, representation at the courts and other mechanisms. The Centre was able to provide support for 75 cases and the remaining 37 unresolved were due to the fact that one parties did not agreed to mediations and some due to lack of funds to pursue the matter in Court for the complainants.
These cases included family and matrimonial, landlord- tenants, labour related dispute and land dispute. The Centre has been able to use ADR mechanisms to resolve most of the cases which is less expensive, unites friendship and relations instead of breaking them and several other benefits that makes it a preferred choice in recent times.
